The Alavattam is made up of welwet cloth in center and satin cloth in border with embroidery work on both side. Stiched with good quality wooden ring in center.
Usage
1. Aalavattam is used for fanning service to perumal during daily Thiruvaradhanam. To make it easier to use at home, we have come up with a small Aalavattam of size 10″ in diameter that’s easy to use at home.
2. Doing Aalavattam Kainkarayam / service is considered a blessing and an opportunity given to us to serve Perumal.
3. Many Aacharyas such as Thirukkachi Nambigal (Kanchipurna Swami) has done Aalavattam Kainkaryam for Varadharaja Perumal at Kanchipuram. Today also at Kanchipuram devotees are doing fanning service to Varadaraj Perumal during regular darshan time.
